in -Kanebo, -Lavshuca, 2007 Summer, all about Japanese cosmetics, makeup

(pictured: my Lavshuca stash)

One of the summer launches that I am really looking forward to is Lavshuca‘s collection. Without a clear color scheme, the main focus is on the 11 new colors of Jewel Lips and the launch of a new blusher collection (packaged in the same way as the single eye color).

The collection includes:

Two Jelly Pot Eye Colors (brown and silver)
Four Cheek Colors
Three Nail Colors
Eleven Jewel Lips

As always, the packaging is cute and princessy, just how I love it!

The launch of the cute little Jewel Lips this spring has obviously been so successful that Lavshuca is bringing out 11 more colors. I have got two of them and I will be reviewing them later this month.

As a blusher lover (hence the name of my blog!), I am also excited about the new blushers. I wasn’t keen on the previous Cheek Select. I think I might get one of these new ones.

More new summer 2007 items next time!

I have never heard of this line before. Where do you get it and what is the price range for the products?

Thank you for your comment, Teri!

Lavshuca is a Japanese drugstore line produced by Kanebo. It has become one of my favorite brands. It was launched in February 2006 and it has been hugely successful. It is now available in Hong Kong and Taiwan as well. (I’ll put up a link to my previous post on the Lavshuca brand review.)

Their products are quite affordable. The eye palette costs 14 USD, the lipstick costs 9 USD, and the single-color eyeshadow costs 7 USD (the equivalents of the retail prices in Japan).

I buy Lavshuca products from the website http://www.adambeauty.com, which is based in Hong Kong. (I was first suggested this site by people on MakeupAlley.com.) They also carry many other brands not available in America/Europe, most of which are very popular in Asia.

Hello,

I assume you were talking about the lipsticks with the silver casing. I personally don’t have any of those and I haven’t been able to find any swatch.

What I would suggest though (for Lavshuca or for any lipsticks of the Japanese brands that you are not able to try before you buy) is to go for colors in the PK (pink) category. Apart from whatever looks too neon-pink, most of the PK colors should be quite wearable.

I think, for Lavshuca lipsticks, apart from PK-2, most other PK colors should be nice to try. (I would personally go for PK-3 and PK-4.)

Hope it helps!

I haven’t tried any Lavshuca products yet, but wanted to know if you’ve heard of “Kate” (another line Kanebo puts out)? It’s kind of like Lavshuca’s edgier, darker sister :) I have their eye shadow palette in blues that range from icy to midnight, and I’m really pleased with it.

Hello Tammy!

Thank you for stopping by.

Yes, Kate is definitely the darker sister to Lavshuca (what a brilliant way to put it). I haven’t actually bought any of its products (I nearly did, for many times), so that’s why I haven’t really written about it.

Compared with younger contenders like Majolica Majorca and Lavshuca, Kate is much more established and is definitely one of the best selling drugstore brands in Japan. It has a really strong brand identity and has survived a lot of tough competition over the years.

At the moment, I am looking forward to having a look at their new loose eyeshadows. They look nice!
