.
Golden Gloss from Yves Saint Laurent was launched in summer 2006. I still remember walking past the YSL counter and the dazzling golden shimmer from these glosses was calling out to me. After testing the various shades, all with golden shimmer, I decided to pick up 03 Golden Pink.
.
As I mentioned in my very first post on YSL, I love the brand’s classy and opulent gold packaging. In the case of Golden Gloss, the packaging echoes the product perfectly. (According to the YSL website, each gloss contains 24-carat gold (a very tiny amount of course), and gold is indeed listed in the ingredient list.)

03 Golden Pink is a warm red pink with mainly very sparkling gold shimmer as well as some subtle shimmer in other hues. It has a fairly good amount of color and is not overly sheer. The gold shimmer works well with the shade, and it is sparse enough so the finish doesn’t look frosty.

.

.

The overall look is vibrant and glamorous, and the beautiful finish lasts well. The enclosed brush applicator is easy to use and quickly creates a very glossy shine on the lips.

The gloss has a subtle fruity scent. Normally I like my lipsticks and lip glosses to be scent-free, but I do find this scent quite pleasant.

If you like very sparkling (but not glittery) lip glosses to add pizazz to your lips, Golden Gloss is certainly a range to consider!

.

Some of my other favorite lip glosses:

Lunasol Full Glamor Gloss in Bright Pink

Paul & Joe Lip Gloss N in Black-Tie

Lavshuca Gloss Stick in PK-3

Sony Curvy Lip Silicone in 501

Hello PJ~!

I’m a new reader – I just recently found your blog. I really enjoy reading your reviews (and <3 my YSL) - so I'm thrilled that you posted this.

I’m really picky about lip glosses- I don’t like it when they’re too heavy and sticky but these are just great. I have two Golden Glosses – #2 Golden Praline and #10 Golden Peony. I do put a lip balm or a tiny dab of Vaseline on before I apply it though. Just a habit, especially for winter.

I’m glad that there are others that like the YSL collection too. <3~

Hi there,

Thank you for leaving your comment!

I do have to apologize, but, at the moment, I don’t really post photos of myself. But some readers have suggested that I do this, and I will certainly consider it in the future.

(If you are interested, there are a couple of photos of this gloss worn on lips on Makeup Alley.)

Thank you for stopping by my blog! :)

Hi Daramji,

Thank you for reading my blog! :)

I am glad you enjoyed this review. I love YSL items as well, even though I don’t really have a lot of them. But I do love what I have. I like the image of the brand and the good quality of their products.

Golden Praline and Golden Peony are great shades as well!

I do put on a lip balm before I put on a lipstick or a lip gloss as well. Like you, it is a habit of mine to keep my lips moisturized.

I am planning to talk about another YSL item next month, so please stay tuned!

Thank you again for visiting my blog, and hope to hear from you again soon! :)

Hello PJ,
I bought the Benefit’s California Kissin’ aqua/blus lip gloss and it’ll be on its way to me this week (Bought direct from Benefit’s US website, much cheaper!). I will review it once I have gotten my hands on it!

Btw, do you feel tt the Anna Sui lip gloss a tad too sticky?

Kng Suan,

I hope you will enjoy California Kissin’!

I have tested it in the shop, and it is the kind of blue-tinted lip gloss I like. (It is relatively sheer and not too intensely shimmery.) I look forward to your review, and please e-mail me the link to it when it goes up. I would love to read it as soon as it is up. :)

As for the Anna Sui lip gloss, I don’t particularly feel it is sticky. But I guess it is partly because I don’t mind glosses being slightly sticky.

Thank you for reading my blog and leaving your comment again! :)

Hi Nikki,

YSL does have some very unique fragrances. I don’t own any fragrance from YSL but they are certainly renounced for some classic scents.

Hope you will enjoy some of the YSL makeup items. Maybe I will see some YSL reviews on your blog later! :)

Thank you for leaving your comment on my blog again! :)

Hi Dawn.,

One blog that has really great skincare reviews is 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic (even though the blog is not all about skincare).

The writer of the blog has extensive knowledge on how ingredients in skincare products work and gives well-rounded overview and evaluation of various skincare products.

Hope it helps!

hey PJ, thank you! I have also one of these glosses and I am very pleased with it. The color ist beautifull, and the packging so luxurious it is so pleasent just to have it. I am a big fan of YSL because of the scents they use for lipsticks nad glosses, I like it (do not like CHANEL e.g.).

Hi,

I agree with you. I prefer the scent that YSL uses in their lip products to that of Chanel’s, and I do like the light fruity scent of the YSL lip gloss.

Of course the packaging is lovely too. :)

Thank you for your comment again! :)
