For the holiday season in Japan, Dior usually releases a luxury set which allows customization of part of the contents. Last year, customers were able to choose the lipstick and nail varnish they liked for the TOTALLY DIOR Cannage set. This year, the Shimmering Party Makeup collection includes:

– any lipstick (from Dior Addict High Shine, Dior Addict High Color, or Rouge Dior range)
– eyeshadow single (limited-edition shade only available in this set)
– Diorshow Powder in 001
– silver mirror
– silver pouch

The set is priced between 8400 (87 USD) and 8610 JPY, depending on the choice of lipstick. It is a lot cheaper than the Cannage collection in 2007, which was around 300 USD and featured a much more luxurious-looking bag. Maybe this is partly due to the current economic climate…

This bag is exactly what you would get if you purchased a fragrance set… they’re not being very original this year. Anyways, I would still love to buy it if it was available in Canada!

I wonder why they don’t do this in the states? That eyeshadow looks a tad taupe-y. I’m lemming it!

Hi Sheila,

You are absolutely right. I have seen more or less the same pouch at the Dior counter here in the UK. Usually they bring out an original pouch/bag/case for the luxury holiday collection, but not this year…

Thank you for your comment again! :)

Hi Elvira,

I think the luxury holiday set is one of the things that Dior regularly brings out for the Japanese market. Also, there are occasionally Japan-only makeup shades from Dior and they are not even available in other Asian countries. (Some of them do look very nice and I wish we had them here in the UK…)

Thank you for your comment again! :)
