Golden Globe 2009 Fashion: Best-Dressed 3

by PJ on Wednesday, January 14, 2009

in -Giorgio Armani, -YSL, fashion, fashion - award fashion

It’s the award season again. Last year, there was no (traditional) award ceremony for the Golden Globe, but the stars were back on the red carpet on Sunday for the annual event. Here are my three best-dressed for the night. (I just noticed that they were all wearing strapless numbers…)

3. Eva Longoria Parker

66th Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals - Los Angeles

This form-fitting gown by Reem Acra creates a beautiful silhouette for Eva, and the warm red complements her skin tone. The mermaid cut elongates her petite figure, and the clutch bag adds pizazz to the whole look.

2. Anne Hathaway

66th Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals - Los Angeles

I saw her on a worst-dressed list, and I wasn’t really sure why. The crystal-embellished blue gown by Armani Privé provides a flattering contrast to Anne’s fair skin. The accessories are kept very understated. She really looks like an old-school Hollywood star.

1. Kate Winslet

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards - Arrivals

A winner in the ceremony, and a winner on the red carpet. Black is usually my least favorite red-carpet color for female celebrities, but this low-key Yves Saint Laurent gown is so stunning. It reminds me of what she wore to the 2007 BAFTAS, which was also a great choice, but I like this look even more. It is simple and elegant, and I adore the bow and jewel details at the waistline.

I like the first two dresses too! Btw I was wondering, what’s on your Spring makeup shopping list? Are you still planning on getting the Lunasol palette?

I love the dress that Eva is wearing. What I love most about it is that gorgeous red color and how it compliments her skin. It was my favorite dress at the golden globes.

Hi ‘ * : . b | u 3 . : * ‘,

Yes, I think I will be buying the purple eye palette from Lunasol. I am also planning to buy Coffret D’Or’s new palette in Pink Variation.

One thing I have yet to decide on is the Lady Dior palette. I have just seen it in person for the first time today, but I didn’t buy it then. I like it, but I need to think about it a little more to be sure that I like it enough to want to spend all the money on it. I will probably write a post about it whether I end up buying it or not…

Thank you for stopping by again! :)

Hi Diana,

I think Eva was chosen as the best-dressed female celebrity on Fashion Police on the E! channel. :)

Eva looked gorgeous! Her dress is awsome. The color of the dress is really amazing. I thought Kate Winslet looked great but I wouldn’t say the best… I know everybody is crazy about Anne Hathaway’s look… I am not so thrilled… Maybe because it’s not my favorite color. I think JLo looked really hot!!! But she is not mentioned much…

Hi Mina,

I also like Anne Hathaway’s style in general. She almost always looks stylish and elegant at the same time.

Hi BeautyTalk,

JLo’s dress is definitely striking. I think it has got mixed reactions. I like the color of the dress, but I am not sure if I like the structure of it. The dress seems to only look good from certain angles.

I love Kate Winslet. She always looks classy, never trashy.

Eva’s dress is amazing, too.
