On January 1st this year, Shiseido released a new range of lip products (Perfect Rouge and Smoothing Lip Pencil) to launch a new line simply called SHISEIDO. (I am assuming that the line is replacing Shiseido The Makeup) The line continues to feature creations by Dick Page, Shiseido’s Artistic Director.

On August 1st, new eye makeup items will be available, and, on September 1st, the line will feature new base makeup products.

The new additions include:

– Luminizing Satin Eye Color (15 shades)
– Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil (2 shades)
– Natural Eyebrow Pencil (4 shades)
– Perfect Mascara (2 shades)
– Eyelash Curler
– Advanced Hydro Liquid Compact (SPF 15, 6 shades)
– Translucent Loose Powder (1 shade)

Ah! I hope they continue to make their lipgloss and hydro powder eyeshadows!

Oh, the eye shadows look lovely. Can't wait till they come out! I've been meaning to pick up one of the lip pencils too.

Thanks for sharing.
I'm going to miss the old packaging, not that I bought many The Makeup products the last few years. The Hydro Powder ES are great though…

The first time Shiseido came to my attention was in the late 80's- early 90's when the line was revamped under Serge Lutens. Actually it was the pictures he created (he is a photographer/makeup artist/jewel designer/poet/perfumer) that were so striking. Those images of ethereal kabuki white faced women really put Shiseido a part from other cosmetic companies. The ads were not selling a particular look but setting more of a mood for a color collection. Also Serge Lutens created really exciting colors, he came up with very dark lips way before Chanel thought about Rouge Noir/Vamp.

I really hope Dick Page can bring a strong vision to Shiseido, as I think personally that this particular brand within the Shiseido group is sort of Sleeping Beauty at the moment.

Hi Ti_Amo,

I think that they probably will, since the two products have been quite popular (especially the Hydro-Powder Eye Shadow). I'd certainly hope so.

Thank you for posting your comment again! :)

Hi Kuri,

I like the fact that the eyeshadows look quite wearable but they don't look plain or boring. I am looking forward to seeing these items in the UK later on.

Thank you for stopping by again! :)

Hi CedriCeCCentriC,

Thank you so much for sharing what you know and your views. Even though I am aware of the connection between Serge Lutens and Shiseido, my knowledge of cosmetics in general doesn't go as far back as in the 80's and I really appreciate your comment!

I have a feeling that they will bring out products that are similar to the Hydro-Powder Eye Shadows. I certainly look forward to them.

Thank you very much again! :)
