Bodycare Review: Palmer’s Body Butters

in -Palmer's, bodycare

To me, Palmer’s seems to be a relatively low-key brand with a solid following. The Cocoa Butter Formula range is among the brand’s most extensive ranges, and it includes the Cocoa Body Lotion, which is probably one of the brand’s best-selling items. (I will be reviewing it later on.) Today I am highlighting Palmer’s Coconut Body Butter and Cocoa Body Butter.

Both body butters are very emollient and are suitable for areas that require extra moisture. The Coconut Body Butter has a slightly thicker consistency, but both are more or less equally moisturizing. What I particularly like about these two body butters is that they sink into the skin quite easily and that they leave very little greasy residue. The skin feels soft, nourished, and velvety, and it looks semi-matte (with little oily sheen).

The Coconut Body Butter contains moisturizing agents such as urea, isopropyl palmitate, shea butter, propylene glycol, glycerin, coconut oil, cocoa seed butter, mineral oil, mango seed butter, and sweet almond oil. The Cocoa Body Butter contains moisturizing agents such as urea, propylene glycol, isopropyl palmitate, cocoa seed butter, and mineral oil.

The Coconut Body Butter has a fresh coconut milk scent while the cocoa scent in the Cocoa Body Butter is warm with a touch of smokiness that I find surprisingly appealing.

Overall, these two body butters are a pleasure to use. While I like both, I marginally prefer the Cocoa Body Butter. It is slightly easier to spread and I really like the warmth in the scent of the product.

Palmer’s Body Butters are also available in Shea Body Butter and Olive Body Butter.

Hello PJ,
Ah! Palmers body butter that takes me back to my teens! I love the smell of it too. It makes me think of summers on the beach.
Some of my pals used to mix it with fake tan. I just liked it as a moisturizer. I never was much of a sun bather much happier

swimming :0) At the moment I am relying heavily on my E45 for a body moisturizer as I need TLC after this winter hehe!
I have enjoyed catching up with your reviews. YSL have got some interesting shades coming out. I am loving the turquiose!
I am glad to see they are re-releasing blue lagoon. I wish they would re-release the wonderful Palette Horizon for the eyes from

2007 or was it 2006?! I loved the combo of turquiose, pale lemon, peach and deep lilac with the white irridescent highlighting

zigzags going across. It was one of the few summer eye palettes I bought. I tend to buy spring but not summer as the colours

don't seem to suit me so well. I really enjoyed reading your Natural Makeup Recommendation post. What a gorgeous palette the

Coffret D'Or 3D Lighting Eyes in Purple is! I seem to be addicted to lilac palettes an old favourite of mine is the Guerlain

Touch of Lilac (still going strong) and the Chanel Stage Lights which you recommended. I look forward to reading your part 2 on

Natural Makeup. I have at last got my site set up again! I am still limited time wise but hope to post regularly. Am I right in

thinking Kanebo is available in UK? Hope you have enjoyed the first day of spring. Hugs Chloe

Hi Chloe,

Thank you very much for letting me know about your blog. The new YSL eyeshadow palette looks quite stunning. :)

Kanebo (the Sensai line) is indeed available in the UK, but I think it is only available in Harrods at the moment. You may remember that Kanebo used to be more widely available. (I remember that it was available in some Debenhams stores.)

I am looking forward to YSL's summer releases. The eyeshadow singles seem to be worth a look.

I am also looking forward to Dior's summer 2010 makeup items. The Addicted to Dior palette reminds me of the limited-edition ID-tag palettes Dior released quite a few years ago.

Thank you very much for posting your comment again! :)
