Darphin Hydraskin Skin-Hydrating Serum 1

.

Founded in 1958 by Pierre Darphin, Darphin is a French skincare brand that has an emphasis on aromatic skincare. One of Darphin’s key skincare concepts is to use serums, aromatic oils, and moisturizing creams to deal with various skincare concerns (dryness, sensitivity, excessive sebum, ect.). According to the brand’s recommended routines, serums are used in the morning and aromatic oils are used in the evening. Both are followed by moisturizing creams.

Darphin currently features eight serums, and today I am highlighting Hydraskin Intensive Skin-Hydrating Serum.

Hydraskin Intensive Skin-Hydrating Serum has a very lightweight watery toner-like consistency. It spreads and is absorbed very easily.

Some of the main moisturizing ingredients in this product are glycerin, butylene glycol, methyl gluceth-20, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid, trehalose, sodium PCA, and urea.

The product contains pomegranate extract and tocopherol (vitamin E), which function as antioxidants.

It is alcohol-free and paraben-free. It contains fragrance (parfum) and other scenting agents (such as limonene and linalool). The scent of the product is very faint.

The serum is able to hydrate the skin without leaving any stickiness. It can be used after a toner or instead of a toner (if you don’t want to layer too many products). Apart from the fragrance that it contains (which some might be sensitive to), there are no obvious skin irritants.

Overall, Hydraskin is a well-formulated product that can suit all skin types. According to Darphin, this is for daytime use but there is no reason why this can’t be used in the evening. (I would certainly recommend this over a few of Darphin’s Aromatic Care oils (which are recommended by Darphin for night-time use), as they contain fragrant plant oils that are potential skin irritants.)

Hi Kris,

Darphin’s Hydraskin Serum is priced at 41 GBP in the UK. I am afraid that I don’t know its retail price in Korea.

Thank you for your question!
