Dior Spring 2012 Makeup Collection

Have a look at images of Dior’s spring 2012 Garden Party makeup collection at Iswii.com. (The article also features images of Lancôme’s spring 2012 makeup collection.) I love the new seasonal limited-edition item, which is a variation of Dior Minaudière from holiday 2010. I also like the color combinations of the two 5-Color Eyeshadow palettes. The rose motifs look lovely too.

(Brief thoughts on Dior’s holiday 2011 makeup collection: I was considering buying Dior Celebration Collection Eye Palette after seeing images of it, but I was not too impressed when I saw it in person a few weeks ago. The finishes of the packaging weren’t as good as I expected, and I decided not to buy it. I will save my Boots points for the spring collection.)

Hi Sophia,

Lancôme’s spring 2012 makeup collection looks lovely (I like the minty green Color Fever Gloss, as I mentioned :)), but I am especially excited about Dior’s spring 2012 makeup collection! :)

Thank you for your comment again! :)

I saw pictures of these a few days ago and I was stunned! This is probably the prettiest collection Dior has done since the Boudoir collection for spring 2010.

All of it looks amazing, but I think I’ll go for both 5-colour eyeshadow palettes. One of them provides variations of colours I already use the most (pinks and purples) and I’m glad the other contains some green. I feel green is quite a neglected colour in the Dior line-up (although it’s not a colour I wear often).

I’m also happy to see a new variation for the 3-colour palettes as I none of the existing one really appealed to me (or I already had colours that were too similar to justify buying them). I’ll just wait on it though, since the purple one (that I’m interested in) is joining the permanent range.

I save up my points too, just for things like these.

The Chanel spring collection is quite pretty too, but Dior beats it hands down this time.

Thanks for the post PJ!

I forgot to mention, I have a link mentioning prices and release dates (for the UK). I hope you don’t mind me including a link (this one seems to be one of the first blogs showing this collection):

It appears that roses seem to be a strong theme for this spring doesn’t it? What with more than one brand including them in their collections.

I’m pretty excited for this spring’s collections, especially as I was a little underwhelmed by them this year (not that there wasn’t anything pretty of course, there always is).

Hi Leila,

No problem with the link. :)

I agree with you that this is such a pretty collection. For me, this could be one of the prettiest makeup collections from Dior in recent years.

Like you, I like pinks and purples and 841 Garden Roses instantly caught my attention. On the other hand, it was only a few months ago when I would not usually look at a green-toned palette twice, but now I am quite interested in 441 Garden Pastels. (Plus the teal looks lovely as well.)

I hope that the colors will look nice when I swatch them at the counter and that they won’t be too frosty. We’ll have to wait and see!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts again! :)

I agree with you on the Dior Holiday collection, it is not that special in person. I am looking forward to seeing the Spring collection though, so pretty!

Hi Rola,

I am really looking forward to seeing the spring 2012 items too. All the palettes look stunning and it is quite likely that I will get a couple of items from the collection. :)

Thank you for stopping by again! :)

Dior is definitely a brand I would like to get to know a little better. I have never used any of their cosmetics, just their perfumes! This collection looks beautiful. I am going to have to go check them out some time this week!

I am LOVING your blog!

I just did a post on my recent MAC haul which is all bright colors. I want to play with this softer toned spring collection!

Hi Kassandra,

Thank you for your kind words!

I think the general quality of Dior’s makeup products is very good, and this collection is certainly very lovely. Have fun trying it out!
