Shiseido Integrate Rainbow Grade Eyes BE303 Fall 2010 Makeup 1

.

Shiseido Integrate‘s Rainbow Grade Eyes in BE303, from the line’s fall 2010 makeup collection, is actually not the first item from the line that I tried. A couple of years ago, a friend of mine kindly gave me her Diamond Eyes in VI226 to help increase my collection of lilac-toned eyeshadow palettes. I do like the palette. The powder is very smooth and almost creamy, and the colors are beautiful. Then, when I saw Rainbow Grade Eyes on-line, I thought it was time to try another eyeshadow palette from the line.

.

On September 3rd, SUQQU went through a major brand renewal in Japan and its fall 2010 makeup collection includes many new point and base makeup products. (There are also new skincare items.) Blend Color Eyeshadow, available in 6 variations, is one of the new products, and today I am reviewing 01 Kakitsubata.

RMK Face Powder EX 1

.

Launched in September in the UK, RMK‘s new loose powder, Face Powder EX, combines the soft and delicate loose powder and the ease of use and the potability of pressed powder. Four shades are available, and today I am highlighting the shade in P-00.

I received Integrate’s Rainbow Grade Eyes in BE303 and Coffret D’Or’s spring/summer 2010 powder foundation case. A short post on the case will be up later this week, and the review of the palette will be up in a couple of weeks’ time.

3rd: Integrate

.

Integrate has been slowly changing its brand image. (Remember the TV ads starring Angelina Jolie when the brand was first launched several years ago?) Integrate is now a cuter and more girlie line, and the new Rainbow Grade Eyes series from Integrate’s fall 2010 makeup collection makes a clear statement regarding how the line wants to be perceived. The message is clear.

6th: YSL

YSL Fall 2010 Makeup Top 10 1(image from www.ysl.com)

.

With gold, peach, lilac, violet and turquoise, YSL’s fall 2010 makeup collection, Rock & Baroque, is colorful and carries a decadent flair. I like the color combinations of the two new Ombres Duolumières (lilac & brown and gold & deep blue).

10th: Elégance

Elegance Fall 2010 Makeup 1(image from www.elegance-cosmetics.com)

.

Even though some of the colors in Elégance’s fall 2010 makeup collection don’t appeal to me, I like how the theme of the collection, Operatic Queen, is reflected by the way the colors are arranged in the Phantom Eyes palettes. The packaging of the items is opulent and classy as always.

Kanebo Lunasol Aurorized Eyes 02 Light Variation Fall 2010 Makeup 1

.

Even though Lunasol is among my favorite makeup brands, I had not picked up any new item since spring 2009 (Layer Bloom Eyes in Purple Gradation). I had been looking for a neutral-toned eye palette with light neutrals (that do not create shadow or depth for the eyes) and Aurorize Eyes in 02 Light Variation from Lunasol’s fall 2010 makeup collection appealed to me. Also, I had wanted a neutral palette from Lunasol for quite some time and I decided that Light Variation was the one to go for.

There is quite a lot of excitement among Lunasol fans about Aurorize Eyes partly because it is reminiscent of Lunasol’s Geminate Eyes back in fall 2007. (Lunasol’s eye palettes usually feature four colors, and Geminate Eyes was the last eye palette series featuring five colors in each variation. This makes Aurorize Eyes a long-awaited sequel.) Also, many of those who like Geminate Eyes look forward to the shimmery finishes of the shades.

Kose Cosme Decorte AQ MW Marcel Wanders Fall 2010 1(images/info from www.nikkei.com)

.

On November 16th, Kosé Cosme Decorte will launch Cosme Decorte AQ MW, a new sister line to the existing AQ (Absolute Quality) line (the highest-end line of Cosme Decorte). The launch is to celebrate Cosme Decorte’s 40th anniversary.

Even though, according to Cosme Decorte, MW officially stands for Miracle Wonder, the acronym is presumably based on the initials of Dutch industrial designer Marcel Wanders, who collaborated with Cosme Decorte to design the packaging of the products. The beautifully elaborate packaging is reminiscent of Wanders’ crochet designs. (See more of his crochet designs here.)

The line focuses on the skincare and aromatherapy properties of sandalwood extract. (But do note that sandalwood extract may be a skin irritant for some people.)

The launch lineup includes:

– Cleansing Milk
– Facial Bar
– Repair Emulsion
– Repair Lotion
– Repair Serum
– Essential Balm
– Cream Excellent
– Massage Cream
– Facial Mask Duo

The prices range from 4725 JPY (Facial Bar (refill)) to 31500 JPY (Cream Excellent).

New Beauty Brand Review: Burberry Beauty

by PJ on Wednesday, September 22, 2010

in -Burberry, 2010 Fall, makeup

Burberry Beauty Lip Cover 20 Hibiscus 1(Lip Cover in 20 Hibiscus)

.

Most of my favorite beauty brands (especially when it comes to makeup) are designer brands. Beauty lines from Chanel, Dior, YSL, Anna Sui, Jill Stuart and Paul & Joe are beautiful extensions of their respective fashion brands as well as credible makeup/skincare lines in their own right.

On July 12th, Burberry Beauty was launched in the UK, and it is currently available exclusively in Harrods. Even though I am not a Burberry person, the look of the products did catch my attention. A fashion brand’s beauty line can help convey the image of the brand to a wider audience, through the colors and packaging (among other things), and, after seeing the products in person, I think Burberry has done well in both aspects.
