Among western cosmetics brands, Dior‘s seasonal collection has been among those I look forward to the most, especially the limited-edition item.

The Dior spring 2008 makeup collection (launched in Japan on January 11, 2008) will include, among others, eyeshadows, lip glosses, and nail colors*. The base makeup additions will feature pressed powders (pictured bottom left) as well as Capture Totale Serum Foundation (bottom right), which will be a top-end foundation item for Dior.

Also part of the new base makeup lineup is DiorSkin Shimmer Powder (top middle), with gradations of shades. These have really caught my attention.

Dior’s limited-edition item for spring 2008 is named Dior Flower Blossom (not to be confused with the 5-color eyeshadow palette in #690 Flower Blosom). It will include 5 eyeshadows in pastel shades and a pressed face powder.

I have not come across a photo yet, and I will be updating this post when there is more information.

(*Dior’s cosmetics releases can vary substantially from country to country, especially the shades of eyeshadows and lipsticks.)

It does look beautiful, but I am trying to decide whether I actually want to get this or not. What do you think?

I have tested the collection in the shop. You can read about my initial thoughts here!

Hello Chisa,

Thank you for enjoying reading my blog!

Indeed they are quite pricey. I am not sure where you live, but Dior items are usually more expensive in the UK than in the US.

But there are ways for me to get the Dior items I want without worrying about the costs. It is something many people (in the UK) can do. I shall reveal it on Thursday.

Thank you for your comment again! :)

Hello Grayburn again,

Thank you very much!

I think this is the kind of item that you can still use a little bit of and the pattern of which shouldn’t disappear too quickly.

Let’s look forward to seeing it in person and we’ll know about that then!

Thank you for commenting again! :)

Oh dear, and I was doing so well on avoiding to buy more Dior products. I didn’t pick up anything for the holiday yet from any line but for this…I’ll have to hope Shopper’s gets in the spring. Mind you I will be picking up Dior’s Dreamlight from their holiday collection. Thanks for the update1

Hello Ebontien,

I am still thinking about whether I should get Dior Flower Blossom, but it is quite likely that I will.

You know that I used my Boots points on the DiorLight necklace. Otherwise, at 56 pounds, which is very expensive, I don’t think I would actually
buy it.

Let me know about Dreamlight if you do get it!

Hi again,

I did get the Dreamlight and the only colour I could compare it to is the Porcelain Pink DiorShow powder that had been released as part of last year’s fall collection. Both are very pale but while the Porcelain Pink has more colour to it, Dreamlight has predominantly more sparkle, almost glitter but not as overwhelming. If you want, I can show you a photo of comparison?

Hi Ebontien,

I actually had a chance to test the Dreamlight power last week. I think your description of it is very accurate. It is quite sparkling but not glittery. It is a good item to have for people who like some nice sparkles.

I think I remember the Porcelain Pink DiorShow powder that you mentioned. Dreamlight definitely has more sparkles, like you said. But thank you very much for offering to send me a photo! :)

Thank you as well for leaving your comment again!

You need to get the pink floral compact. When will the Dior Spring collection be in stores?

Hello there,

The collection is out in the UK (in several department stores, including Selfridges). I am not sure which country you are currently in. If you happen to be in the US, I don’t think it is out just yet and I am not entirely certain exactly when.

I have tested the Flower Blossom palette in the shop, and you can read about my thoughts here if you are interested.

Thank you for leaving your comment! :)
