In January 2015, THREE released Shimmering Lip Jam as part of the brand’s spring 2015 Let’s Dance makeup collection. (It replaced Glam Touch Lip Gloss, which was featured in the brand’s debut collection in fall 2009.) Some of the colors looked very tempting, and I decided to go for 05 Passion Fashion.
THREE Shimmering Lip Jam in 05 Passion Fashion (THREE シマリング リップジャム 05 Passion Fashion/ THREE 魅光唇果蜜 05 Passion Fashion, ¥3000) is a lightly-to-moderately pigmented translucent cherry pink with very sparse pink-toned and blue-toned shimmer, and it imparts a natural sheen on the lips. It has a gel-like (somewhat jam-like) consistency and feels emollient on the lips. The staying power of the color and the finish is good.
The color spreads very evenly on the lips and doesn’t settle in lip lines overtime. With addition layers, the color and the finish can be moderately intensified while the translucency remains. Also, with each additional layer, the appearance of lip lines becomes more and more diffused.
The sparse shimmer doesn’t look obvious on the lips. I like sparse blue-toned shimmer in lipsticks and lip glosses, but, with this shade, it is so sparse that I have to look very closely to find just a few flecks on the lips (with a couple of layers of the product).
Overall, I am happy with this shade. It is fresh and fairly vibrant but it doesn’t look overly bright. I particularly like applying just one thin layer of the product to add a touch of color and sheen to the lips. It is great to see new shades for fall 2015 and holiday 2015, and I look forward to more in the coming seasons. (More blue shimmer please!)
