Product Review: Gloves In A Bottle Shielding Lotion

For me, handcare is almost as important as skincare. I am quite obsessed with keeping my hands clean, but, with all the washing, they can often feel dry and tight.

Gloves In A Bottle, as the name suggests, moisturizes and protects hands. According to their website, it is “a shielding lotion that rapidly absorbs into, and bonds with, the outer layer of skin creating a protective layer while retaining the natural moisture from within“.

One of the good aspects of this product is that the ingredient list is short and simple, which is great for people with sensitive skin or with skin conditions. There is no fragrance or skin irritants like certain types of essential oils. (Apart from what is listed on the website, the ingredient list on the bottle also lists M&F paraben (a preservative) as an ingredient.)

It is an effective moisturizer for the hands. Light and non-greasy, it is suitable for repeated uses during daytime (no slippery fingers). I actually use it more as a body moisturizer, as I personally prefer my hand cream to be slightly more emollient, especially for the last application before bed.

It can also be used on the face as a light-weight moisturizer.

If you have very sensitive skin (face or body), this straight-forward no-fuss lotion might be something you want to try.

I like Gloves in a Bottle, too. Great basic lotion…which I like. I’m not way into very emollient lotion, nor do I like lotion with scent, so Gloves is ideal for someone like me. Some people have said that it reminds them slightly of Elmers Glue…funny, huh?

Hello Guin,

Thank you for stopping by again!

I am glad you like it. It is indeed a very good basic lotion which is not just suitable for hands.

Personally I like very rich hand cream, like L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream and Garnier’s Hand Cocoon. But I do feel that Gloves In A Bottle will definitely appeal to people who like something lighter.

I use Gloves in a Bottle all the time – I’m an artist and end up washing my hands a zillion times a day. Gloves in a Bottle makes it easier to keep my hands clean plus seems to save them from drying up and cracking. Great stuff – I get it from the UK Gloves in a Bottle website – excellent service too.

Hello Jinki,

Thank you for reading my blog and leaving a comment.

I am glad that you like it. Good to know that it is particularly suitable for you since you need to constantly wash your hands.

It is a simple lotion, formulated with no gimmick. I find that it works very well for me as a body lotion in warmer months. It is light but moisturizing enough for me. So I do enjoy using it.

Thanks again for leaving a comment!
