I followed Sonia Rykiel‘s beauty line closely when it was still around. (Have a look at a profile of the line here.) Unfortunately, it was officially discontinued on December 31st, 2014. The products from the line were still available until March 31st, 2015, and I went for Perfect Eyeshadow in 01 Urban. Today I will be sharing some photos of this palette.
Sonia Rykiel Perfect Eyeshadow in 01 Urban (ソニア リキエル パーフェクト アイシャドウ 01 アーバン, ¥5000) was released in Japan in summer 2013 (when the Perfect Eyeshadow range was launched with eight variations). It includes a porcelain white, a light lilac, a medium-to-dark warm-toned grape purple and a dark aubergine brown.
The case of the palette, which I like very much, features Sonia Rykiel’s iconic stripe design. It looks quite luxurious with golden bronze and rose copper stripes against the black background.
Sonia Rykiel collaborated with Lancôme for its fall 2016 Sonia Rykiel Draws Paris for Lancôme makeup collection. The packaging of the collection items featured multi-colored stripes and whimsical motifs. I saw the collection in person but I didn’t get any item from the collection.
Sadly, Sonia Rykiel passed away on August 25th, 2016, and the fashion brand went into liquidation in 2019 (more information here). I still have my Mono Eyeshadow in 16 and Aqua Cheek Color in 01, and I will certainly keep this palette in my collection. (I will probably continue to keep it unused.)
