(Salted caramel muffin……time to indulge!)
A Touch of Blusher is eight years old today!
I decided to make a few changes in my life around this time last year, and, since the beginning of this year, I have been able to spend a little more time writing for my blog. I hope you have been enjoying reading my posts!
With all the exciting collections from Japanese beauty brands that I want to highlight on my blog, I sometimes wish that I had more time to write about the items I purchased. I always think that news and reviews are equally important aspects of my blog, and I will try my best to balance the two.
I would like to thank all of you for reading my blog and for all your comments, e-mails and tweets. I am very grateful for your support!
Once again, following the tradition, let’s take a look back at the last 12 months of A Touch of Blusher:
November 2013: I reviewed items from SUQQU’s fall 2013 makeup collection.
December: Dark neutrals were a hot trend for fall/winter 2013.
January 2014: Lunasol celebrated its 15th anniversary.
February: I loved all the purples for spring 2014.
March: Les Merveilleuses de Ladurée further expanded in Asia.
April: A new look for Anna Sui.
May: My first fragrance purchase from Jill Stuart.
June: Aube Couture continued to make makeup application quick and easy.
July: Stella McCartney’s Stella was relaunched.
August: The Fleurs de Vent blusher from Dior’s Omotesando Collection is certainly among the prettiest blushers released this year.
September: I compared the three versions of Kanebo Milano Collection.
October: My first purchase from Canmake.
At the moment, I am working on two new posts to be added to my Beauty City Shopping Guide series. Do come back to find out which two cities I will be discussing!

Two years ago, I wrote about Muji‘s Eye Color (4 Color Type) in Plum 01, which was my first makeup purchase from the brand. I particularly liked the texture of the powder so I thought I might try something else from the makeup range, and I decided to go for Cheek Color Mix Type in Pink.

3rd: Canmake

In the last couple of years, Canmake has been releasing new items almost every month, and it is not always easy to group them into seasonal releases. Glow Fleur Highlighter was released in July and Mat Fleur Cheeks was released in October, and I am considering them to be fall 2014 items. Both products are follow-ups to Glow Fleur Cheeks, released in fall 2013. Glow Fleur Highlighter looks really pretty, but I think Mat Fleur Cheeks looks even better.

I stopped by SHOWstudio in London to see Noritaka Tatehana’s SHOWcabinet exhibition a few weeks ago after watching a program about him on NHK World (Rising Artist, October 1st, 2014).
Tatehana gained worldwide attention after his heel-less shoes were worn by Lady Gaga, and the NHK World program highlighted his inspiration and techniques as well as documented his process of putting together the SHOWcabinet exhibition.

Japanese beauty magazine Maquia is running a Team Nippon project on its website. (The project is part of the website’s Japanese Women’s Beauty Plan feature.) What is interesting to me about this project is that it highlights regional beauty brands in Japan.
