(Where can you get this for the lowest price?)

Earlier I mentioned that Jill Stuart Cosmetics will be available in Hong Kong in December. Later, one of my readers, Sweet Tiramisu, kindly let me know about the prices in Hong Kong. (You can see her comment here.) Thank you, Sweet Tiramisu!

I decided to compare the prices of some popular Jill Stuart products in Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Have a look!

Loose Powder
Japan: 4725 JPY
Taiwan: 1350 NTD (3955 JPY)
Hong Kong: 330 HKD (4132 JPY)

All eye palettes
Japan: 5250 JPY
Taiwan: 1450 NTD (4248 JPY)
Hong Kong: 370 HKD (4633 JPY)

Jelly Eye Color
Japan: 2310 JPY
Taiwan: 680 NTD (1992 JPY)
Hong Kong: 160 HKD (2004 JPY)

Mix Blush Compact
Japan: 4725 JPY
Taiwan: 1300 NTD (3809 JPY)
Hong Kong: 330 HKD (4132 JPY)

Blush Powder
Japan: 4410 JPY
Taiwan: 1250 NTD (3662 JPY)
Hong Kong: 310 HKD (3882 JPY)

Compact Mirror
Japan: 2625 JPY
Taiwan: 650 NTD (1904 JPY)
Hong Kong: 170 HKD (2129 JPY)

(based on today’s exchange rate:
1 JPY = 0.34 NTD = 0.08 HKD)

It seems that Jill Stuart products are currently the cheapest in Taiwan, but the prices in Hong Kong are quite good too. (Japanese beauty products do tend to be slightly cheaper in Taiwan, but currently the prices seem particularly good in the relative sense since Taiwanese Dollar has recently been quite weak against Japanese Yen.) It will be interesting to see the prices of Jill Stuart’s spring 2009 items in Taiwan later on…

Coffret D’Or‘s website has been updated to feature the holiday 2008 palettes (out now) as well as preliminary information on the spring 2009 collection (out on December 16th).

Again, I am keeping a close eye on the new eyeshadow palettes. The five variations of Shine Accent Eyes are 01 Orange, 02 Pink, 03 Green, 04 Blue, and 05 Beige

The palettes feature very soft colors. Even the eye-lining shade in each palette seems quite light. Below, from the Coffret D’Or website, you can see where shades are applied:

I think I will probably get 01 Pink Variation (which includes a lilac shade) and compare it with 3D Lighting Eyes in Purple Variation. (I also like the fact that the jewel details are different for the new eye palette series.)

Some of you might already know that Sofina’s makeup line, Aube, will be discontinued in December and replaced by Aube Couture on December 6th.

This is a somewhat similar overhaul to the ones that Shiseido and Kanebo had with PN and T’Estimo. But, with Primavista just launched, Aube Couture will probably not be a megabrand like Maquillage or Coffret D’Or. (Both feature base as well as point makeup items.)

For me, this is a very similar packaging update that Aube has done every two or three years. But the new name does suggest that customers will be able to choose shades that really suit and flatter their facial features.

The new packaging looks slightly more grown-up than the look of the current Aube. Again, this is the same case with Maquillage (from PN) and Coffret D’Or (from T’Estimo).

Currently, the Aube Couture page on the Sofina website only has information on the new lipstick range, Designing Rouge. But you can see an image of the five Designing Eyes palettes on the Biteki website. (I am liking the thicker cases.) According to Voce, Aube Couture’s launch lineup will also feature blushers, mascaras, eyeliners, eyebrow pencils, and a bi-phase makeup remover.

I am looking forward to seeing more images of the products, and I might think about picking up a few later on.

Here is a quick look at Shiseido Integrate‘s holiday 2008 collection.

Two limited-edition makeup palettes will be released for the holiday period. The top shade in each palette is layered on top of eyeshadows and blushers to add shimmer. The bottom two lip glosses feature a pearlescent shade on the right and a glittery shade on the left.

(images and info from www.ayura.co.jp/jp/)

AYURA usually brings out a set of products for the holiday season, and I was wondering why I hadn’t come across any news for this year. Then I realized that the two sets, both including the new Night Meditation fragrance (full size, 20ml) are probably what AYURA has brought out for the holiday period.

The Night Meditation Room Collection (seen above), launched on the same day as the fragrance itself, includes:

– Night Meditation Natural Spray
– Night Meditation Aroma Oil
– Night Meditation Aroma Pot

The set, out now, is priced at 5250 JPY.

The much pricier Night Meditation Bath Collection includes:

– Night Meditation Natural Spray
– Meditation Bath α
– Aromatic Wash
– Meditation Body Cream
– Juke Tower (water-resistant MP3 player)

The set, out on November 23rd, is priced at 12600 JPY.
