Palmer's Olive Butter Formula Body Lotion 1

.

Last year, I reviewed some body moisturizers from Palmer’s, all of which, I think, perform very well. Today I am focusing on two products from Palmer’s Olive Butter Formula range.

.

Olive Butter Formula Body Lotion

One of the common traits of most of Palmer’s body moisturizers that I have reviewed is that they are malleable and easily absorbed without leaving greasy residue (despite their rich and creamy consistency), and this body lotion has the same attribute. It has a dense lotion consistency, but it is very easy to spread and it sinks into the skin relatively quickly. (It has a similar consistency to that of Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion and Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion SPF 15.) It keeps the skin very nourished and the moisture is long-lasting.

Some of its main moisturizing ingredients are olive fruit oil, glyceryl stearate, propylene glycol, glycerin, coconut oil, paraffinum liquidum (mineral oil), cetearyl alcohol and cetyl alcohol. It contains tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E) as an antioxidant.

The product’s light and fresh green fragrance appeals to me, although, quite surprisingly to myself, I prefer the rich and slightly smoky scent from Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion.

I think this product should suit most skin types, including very dry skin.

Olive Butter Formula Concentrated Cream

This dense butter-like cream is designed for dry areas of the body. Shea butter is second on the ingredient list and it gives the cream a very rich texture. (It is even thicker than the Palmer’s Body Butters that I reviewed.) Other moisturizing ingredients in this product include glycerin, cetearyl alcohol, olive fruit oil and glyceryl stearate. It also contains tocopheryl acetate.

It doesn’t spread as well as the other products from Palmer’s that I featured simply because of how rich it is, but it still sinks in relatively well and the emolliency feels very comforting on the skin.

It is particularly good for knees and elbows, and it works well on the heels too. I also like it on the hands (used sparingly) although I think some people may think it feels a little oily as a hand cream.

Overall, these two products work effectively and efficiently, as a little goes a long way. I would recommend them to those with drier skin who are looking for heavier-duty body moisturizers.
