Anna Sui La Vie de Boheme Eau de Toilette Fall 2013 Fragrance 1

.

Released in fall 2013, Anna Sui‘s La Vie de Bohème Eau de Toilette is the brand’s latest fragrance. It aims to capture the bohemian attitude and style in the designer’s aesthetics and approach to life.

The fragrance can be characterized as a floral fruity. It features notes of burgundy berry, dragon fruit, pear, Turkish rose, peony, musk, black vanilla, and sandalwood.

The scent opens with a sparkling and juicy fruitiness, and it then takes on a very subtle floral dimension as the refreshing fruitiness lingers on. Like Anna Sui’s Flight of Fancy, it is generally more fruity than floral. However, its base notes have a stronger presence and add depth to the scent, and the black vanilla in particular adds warmth to the composition.

Overall, the scent is feminine and sensual. I like the floral-fruity character against the warm vanilla-based background. This combination makes the scent quietly dynamic and dimensional. As an eau de toilette, it has a very good lasting power.

The fragrance bottle features two of Anna Sui’s most prominent motifs: rose and butterfly. The purple shade of the perfume is also very Anna Sui, and I like the fact that the lid has been turned into a striking design feature. On the whole, the ornate bottle has a feminine and romantic look with an antique feel.

In the UK, La Vie de Bohème Eau de Toilette is available in 30ml (£29) and 50ml (£39). (A 75ml version is also available in some other countries.) The range also includes Shower Gel (200ml, £20) and Body Lotion (200ml, £22).
