Kosé launched Visée Avant, a sub-line of Visée, in Japan in fall 2016. Compared with Visée, Visée Avant is sleeker and edgier. (Visée used to be edgier but it is now more elegant.) Today I will be reviewing Visée Avant’s Single Eye Color in 013 Exotic.
Kosé Visée Avant Single Eye Color in 013 Exotic (コーセー ヴィセ アヴァン シングルアイカラー 013 Exotic/ 高絲 Visée Avant 隨心玩美眼影 013 柔光金黃棕, 1g, ¥800) was part of Visée Avant’s launch lineup in fall 2016. It is a moderately-pigmented medium-depth golden bronze, and it has a shimmery finish with soft sparkles and a soft metallic sheen. The light-reflective particles are multi-hued.
The product is fairly easy to apply and blend. The powder is quite firmly pressed so it takes a little time to layer it. I also find that the powder is slightly on the dry side and that it takes a little time to blend it. (There is minimal fallout during applications.) However, an even application and a soft gradation are still easily achievable.
The product has a very good lasting power. Throughout the course of wear, the powder stays put with virtually no traveling or creasing and both the color and the finish remain fresh. (The color doesn’t turn dull or ashy overtime.)
It goes on slightly darker than it looks in the pan. It creates moderate shadows (not too soft or too dramatic), and the overall finish is not too shimmery or too metallic.
On the whole, the shade works very well for me as a shadowing shade. I like its warm golden tone (which doesn’t look orange-toned or red-toned), and its moderate depth also appeals to me. I think the finish can be a little too shimmery for some people, but I personally don’t have an issue with the amount of shimmer in this shade.
