Last December, I reviewed Excel‘s Skinny Rich Cheek in RC01 Pink Nectar. Today, I will be focusing on RC02 Pure Peach. (Here, “skinny” (“スキニー”) means “skin-like” or “skin-tonal”.)
Sana Excel Skinny Rich Cheek in RC02 Pure Peach (サナ エクセル スキニーリッチチーク RC02 ピュアピーチ/ Sana Excel 絲緞光漾腮紅 RC02 蜜桃杏粉, ¥1500) was released in Japan in spring 2016 (when the Skinny Rich Cheek range was launched with three shades (in RC01 Pink Nectar, RC02 Pure Peach and RC03 Rose Peony)). (Then, RC04 Shell Coral was released in Japan in spring 2017.) It is a pinkish peach with an above-medium pigmentation level, and it has a softly glowy finish with a hint of multi-hued shimmer. It is very easy to apply and blend, and it has a very good staying power.
It is easy to layer to increase the color intensity and vibrancy, and the vibrancy of the color lasts well. It is slightly warmer and peachier than RC01 Pink Nectar, and it doesn’t look orange-toned on me. (Sweets Sweets’ Silky Chiffon Cheeks in 03 Peach Chiffon is warmer and peachier than RC02.)
I like RC01 Pink Nectar and RC02 Pure Peach more or less equally. Both are fairly vibrant colors that manage to look natural on the cheeks. (Both their color tones and their finishes contribute to the naturalness of the looks they create.) As RC02 is fairly pigmented (just like RC01), I try not to be too heavy-handed with it.
