Watosa Point Colors 528 Golden Delicious Fall 2006 Makeup 1

Watosa has been around for many years, but it always seems to have a low-key presence. I liked the brand’s quirky and chic look, and I purchased my first item from the brand (Lipstick in 210 Metropolis Mauve) many years ago. I mentioned in this post (as well as the post on Metropolis Mauve) that I wanted to try more items from the brand, and I decided to go for Point Colors in 528 Golden Delicious.

According to Cosme.net, Watosa’s Point Colors range was launched in Japan in fall 2006 with 24 shades. (The currently available 24 shades may have all been released in fall 2006.) They can be used on the eyes and/or the cheeks.

Watosa Point Colors in 528 Golden Delicious (ワトゥサ ポイントカラーズ 528 ゴールデンデリシャス, ¥2000) is a well-pigmented medium-to-dark (towards dark) warm-toned brown with a subtle gold tone and a softly pearly finish. As a well-pigmented dark shade, it is reasonably blendable. (Blending it does take some time.) For me, its strength is its very good staying power. It can last 12 hours on me with very little traveling or fading.

Although I usually go for lighter shades for shadowing the eyes, it works quite well for me as a dark shadowing shade. I particularly like its warm tone and subtle gold tone. Because of its color depth, I tend to keep it fairly close to my lashlines to avoid an overly dramatic look. (I haven’t tried it as an eyelining shade.)

The case (or the sleeve, to be more precise) features the brand’s multi-colored stripes, which I like very much. (Not every Watosa item features them.) It has a paper exterior and a plastic interior (which holds the metal tray containing the eyeshadow).

Overall, 528 Golden Delicious performs quite well on me and it suits my warm-toned complexion. Blending it requires a little patience, but its staying power is impressive.

(I have noticed that Watosa’s official website specifies that the Point Colors range is made in “Italy/Japan”. I presume that some shades are made in Italy and that some shades are made in Japan. According to the information on the packaging, 528 Golden Delicious is made in Japan.)
