Ayura will release its spring/summer 2022 fragrance collection in Japan on February 1st. The collection includes:
– Spirit of Ayura Eau de Parfum (20ml, ¥4000)
According to Ayura’s official Japanese website, ink is the main fragrance note that is present throughout the wear. The website also lists the following notes:
- Top notes: green tea, clary sage, rosemary
- Middle notes: Dianthus superbus (a species of Dianthus), jasmine, geranium
- Base notes: sandalwood, iris, gray musk
Spirit of Ayura Eau de Parfum will presumably replace Spirit of Ayura Parfum de Toilette (20m, ¥4000), which was launched in Japan in 2011. (It is currently listed on Ayura’s official Japanese website as “to be discontinued”.) The original Spirit of Ayura Eau de Parfum (50ml, ¥3800) was launched in Japan in 2001. (Also launched in Japan at the time was Spirit of Ayura Parfum (15ml, ¥8500).)
The original Spirit of Ayura Eau de Parfum is one of my favorite fragrances. (I listed its fragrance notes here.) The Parfum de Toilette version has very slightly more depth but it is more or less the same as the original. According to Fashion Press, the new version of Eau de Parfum is fresher. Hopefully it doesn’t deviate too much from either the original Eau de Parfum or the Parfum de Toilette.
