Combining quality and ingenuity, SUQQU has been among the top Japanese beauty brands for years. From Clear Veil Powder from 2006 to Contour Shadows from 2009, SUQQU has been continuously developing products that enhance facial beauty in unique ways. Today, I am highlighting another example, Eyebrow Liquid Pen R in 01 Moss Green.

Dior’s spring 2014 Trianon makeup collection has a diverse range of colors, with shades of pink, peach, green, blue, purple, and gray. The highlights of the collection are the two Trianon Palettes, but some of the other items, such as the Trianon Editions of 5 Couleurs, Diorshow Mono and Diorblush, look impressive as well.

Last fall, Elégance presented an updated look with Nouvelle Eyes. The new packaging, while in keeping with the brand’s glamorous gold color theme, is sleeker than what we saw from the more ornate Phantom Eyes and Aurora Storm, which were first released in 2009. For spring 2014, there are three additional variations of Nouvelle Eyes and the new look is also seen on the new Sleek Face cream blushers.

As many of you might already know, the consumption tax in Japan rose from 5% to 8% on April 1st this year and it is planned to rise again to 10% in October 2015. I have noticed that major beauty websites in Japan, such as @Cosme and Biteki, are now listing product prices exclusive of consumption tax. This is what I have recently started doing as well (to follow what seems to be the new protocol).
On a related note, it is currently the case that beauty products purchased by foreign visitors to Japan are not eligible for tax refund (as they are classified as consumables), but the Japanese government is planning to expand the duty-free coverage to include food, medicine and cosmetics from October this year. (Read more on this in this article from Nikkei Asian Review.) This is certainly good news!
