According to WWD, Sephora has been in talks with Marks & Spencer regarding opening shop-in-shops in the UK’s leading highstreet department store.

This is very exciting news, and it would certainly be great to see Sephora back in the UK!

If you also want to see Sephora back in the UK, you can still sign the petition started by Charlotte at Kiss and Makeup in August last year.

Updated on January 29th 2008:

Charlotte at Kiss and Makeup has posted additional information on the possible re-launch. Have a look!

that’s seriously fab!

I remember when I visited my friend in Southampton they had a Sephora!

She was quite put out when it closed!

I seriously couldn’t cope without Sephora ;)

Hi Hightea_xx,

It is exciting that you are getting Sephora where you are. Hope you will love it!

Actually, I don’t really know for sure why Sephora left the UK several years ago. I am as curious as you are…

It was probably more of a top-down decision from the higher executives regarding in which countries they wanted more or fewer branches. Revenue could be an issue, since Sephora was never as big as it is in the US. (There was not even a Sephora store in central London…)

I do hope it will be coming back (in style) soon!

Thank you for posting your comment again! :)

Hi The Muse,

Sephora seems to be such a big player in the US. As far as I know, it was not nearly as big in the UK as it is in the US.

I do hope that if they are indeed re-launching, they will do it with a bang and get as much attention as possible…

Let’s see!

Thank you for your comment again! :)

(updated)

Hi Shibooya,

Thank you very much for having read my blog for a while! It’s great that you got a lot of beauty goodies in Tokyo this summer. I hope you are enjoying using them! (I would love to go to Japan again soon…)

I think I heard about the Sephora in Uxbridge, but I don’t think it is there anymore. I was just looking for some information on-line, and it appeared that it used to be in The Chimes Shopping Centre in Uxbridge. I checked the Centre’s website and it is not on their store list. I might phone them and try to confirm this later, but I’d assume at the moment that it is not there anymore…

But if you happen to have more details on this later on, please do let me know.

(I have been to the Sephora in Islington and in Brent Cross Shopping Centre, but not the one in Uxbridge.)

If I find out more about Sephora in the UK, I will definitely post about it on my blog as soon as I can. :)

Thank you very much for leaving your comment. Hope to hear from you again. :)
