RMK‘s Gloss Lips N was launched in Japan on December 3rd last year (and later that month in the UK) to replace Gloss Lips, which was among the brand’s best-selling items. Could the new version be just as popular?
Gloss Lips N is currently available in 20 shades in 4 finishes (CL (Clear), P (Pearl), H (Holographic), and SH (Shiny)), and today I am highlighting P-03 Rose Brown. (The three limited-edition lip glosses in RMK’s spring 2011 makeup collection are simply called Gloss, which is a different product.)
P-03 Rose Brown is one of the eight shades in the Pearl category. It is a moderately pigmented copper rose with shimmer. (It is a little more brownish than it looks in the two photos above.) The shimmer is not frostily pearly as the category name might suggest (which wouldn’t appeal to me). Instead, the shimmery particles are just dense enough to make an impact and create beautiful dimension with a hint of sparkle. They look gold-toned under sunlight and multi-colored under some types of artificial lightings.
The product layers to a very glossy finish with tremendous ease, which is what I like the most about the product. One layer can already give the lips a good deal of shine and gloss, and a couple more layers can really produce a lusciously glassy and glossy look. The ultra-glossy finish and the shimmery particles create extra volume for the lips and help minimize the appearance of lip lines. Both the color and the finish last well.
The product comes with a brush applicator. It picks up more product than most sponge applicators, which makes layering very easy. It also allows a precise application.
If you like lip glosses that impart a subtle sheen on the lips, then RMK’s Gloss Lips N might not be for you. But if you like high-impact vinyl shine, then do have a look at the various shades of this product. I think this new version is very likely to be as popular as the previous one.
