For fall/winter 2014, Kanebo Coffret d’Or’s sub-line, Coffret d’Or Gran, will release Elegant Up Cheeks (3 variations, ¥2700) in Japan on November 16th.

Coffret d’Or Gran is a line targeting consumers in their fifties. According to the line, one of their main concerns is that blushers with a very pearly finish can exaggerate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. To address this, Elegant Up Cheeks features a “base color“and a multi-hued “cheek color“. The base color helps create a smoother and more even-toned appearance of the skin, and the cheek color, worn over the base color, adds color and a natural radiance to the cheeks.
Some Japanese beauty brands put blushers in the base makeup category, so it is not surprising for Coffret d’Or Gran, a base makeup line at the moment, to release a product for the cheeks.
The idea of a base designed for the cheeks is appealing to me, and I would certainly like to try this blusher. (03 Rose is looking good.) I also like the packaging. Blushers with floral designs seem popular at the moment (Rose Cheek Color N from Anna Sui and Glow Fleur Cheeks and Mat Fleur Cheeks from Canmake), and the black oval case with floral motifs looks feminine and elegant.
