I reviewed Kosé Visée‘s Glossy Rich Eyes in BR-5 Gold Brown in 2015. I then decided to try another variation from the range, and I went for BR-1 Warm Brown.
Kosé Visée Glossy Rich Eyes in BR-1 Warm Brown (コーセー ヴィセ グロッシーリッチ アイズ BR-1 ウォームブラウン系/ 高絲 Visée 晶緞光漾眼影盒 BR-1 深邃咖啡, ¥1200) was released in Japan in fall 2013 (when the Glossy Rich Eyes range was launched with eight variations). The four shades in this variation are:
- cream white, lightly pigmented, softly shimmery
- light peach, lightly-to-moderately pigmented, with pearly shimmer
- orange-toned bronze, moderately pigmented, with pearly shimmer
- dark brown, moderately-to-intensely pigmented, velvety with a hint of shimmer
All the shades have multi-hued light-reflective particles. They are all easy to apply and blend, and they all have a good staying power.
The cream white is not too shimmery and it works well for me as a base shade. The light peach doesn’t look too peach-toned and it works fairly well for me as a lightening shade. It gently brightens my eyes and creates a fresh look.
The orange-toned bronze has the right color depth for me as a shadowing shade, and I like its dimensional finish. However, it is a little too orange-toned for me. The dark brown is dark enough and is a competent eyelining shade. (The smaller sponge of the double-ended sponge applicator enclosed in this palette works well with the dark brown. It has a fairly pointy tip and I can draw relatively thin lines with it.)
While I like how well the shades in this palette are coordinated and the finishes of all the shades, the orange-toned brown, as the key shade in this palette, is a little too warm-toned for me. Between this variation and BR-5 Gold Brown, I prefer BR-5. The golden brown in BR-5 works a lot better for me as its color tone suits me a lot more.
