In January, I reviewed Visée Avant‘s Single Eye Color in 013 Exotic, which is my first item from the line. I have still been very interested in the line, and today I will be sharing my thoughts on Multi Stick Color in 001 Crybaby.
Kosé Visée Avant Multi Stick Color in 001 Crybaby (コーセー ヴィセ アヴァン マルチスティックカラー 001 Crybaby/ 高絲 Visée Avant 多功能彩粧棒 001 霧面薔薇藕粉, 6g, ¥1800) was released in Japan in spring 2017 (when the Multi Stick Color range was launched with 6 shades (in 001-006)). (Four additional shades (in 007-010) were released in Japan in spring 2018.) It is a moderately-pigmented light-to-medium rose beige with a shimmerless velvety-to-satiny (towards velvety) finish. (It goes on slightly lighter than it looks in the tube.) It has a good staying power.
(The product is designed to be multipurpose and can be used for eyes, cheeks and lips. I purchased 001 Crybaby to be used as a lipstick, and therefore I am only reviewing it as a lipstick.)
It glides on the lips smoothly and effortlessly. (It is more of a powdery and feathery smoothness than of a buttery or balmy smoothness.) It reaches a semi-opaque coverage with a couple of layers, and the coverage can be moderately increased with additional layers. It feels pleasantly (and almost surprisingly) lightweight and reasonably moisturizing on the lips. There is some slight patchiness towards the end of wear as my natural lip color shows through. (The shade is lighter than my natural lip color.) However, it doesn’t look very obvious.
For me, it is a wearable nude-toned shade that is not too pale or too beige-toned. I am particularly pleased with how lightweight it feels on the lips and its smooth predominantly-matte finish. I am also happy with the color, but, just to be very picky, I would prefer it to be slightly more rose-toned and very slightly darker.
