Dior’s holiday 2012 Grand Bal makeup collection features chic gold-toned neutrals for the eyes and seductive reds for the lips and nails. The Grand Bal palette, in a sleek gold case, also includes a gold-toned eyeshadow, and I like the look of the Diorific items in the gold packaging as well. The collection has a glamorous and opulent feel.

With Kosé Cosme Decorte’s Magie Deco not releasing a collection for spring 2012, my attention is naturally moving towards one of Cosme Decorte’s other lines, AQ MW (Absolute Quality Marcel Wanders). The filigree patterns of the line’s debut makeup collection for spring 2012 run across the cases as well as some of the products themselves. Packaging-wise, I still prefer Magie Deco, but I certainly look forward to AQ MW’s seasonal releases in the future.

Among RMK’s Christmas Palettes, the 2011 edition is certainly one of the better ones in terms of mix-and-match possibilities of the eyeshadows and blushers. For me, the highlights of the set are the blushers and the lip gloss. The collaboration with Kate Spade makes this limited-edition set extra special.
