A few years ago, I tried Muji‘s Eye Color (4 Color Type) in Plum 01. I was generally happy with it and I was particularly impressed by its beautifully smooth texture. I then decided to get Eye Color (4 Color Type) in Brown x Gold.
Muji Eye Color (4 Color Type) in Brown x Gold (無印良品 アイカラー 4色タイプ ブラウン×ゴールド/ 無印良品 4色眼彩 棕×金, ¥750 (case and applicators sold separately)) features an off-white cream, a pale yellow, a medium-to-dark brown-toned gray and a dark charcoal brown. All the shades are very smooth and silky. They are easy to apply and have a good staying power.
The off-white cream and the pale yellow do not look very different when worn. They are also both quite shimmery, and I tend to apply them light-handedly.
The main shadowing shade in this palette looks like a rich golden brown in the pan, but it goes on my eyes as a medium-to-dark gray. Despite its blendability, depth-enhancing efficacy and dimensional finish, the color doesn’t really suit me.
Overall, I am a little disappointed with this palette. Even though the texture of the powder is superb, the combination of colors as a whole doesn’t work well enough for me.
