Kose Kose Cosmeport Precious Garden Hand Cream Honey Peach Fall 2014 Bodycare Handcare 1

Precious Garden caught my attention in a similar way Aroma Resort did as I found the look of the line fresh and colorful. Obviously there was no guarantee that the products themselves would be just as appealing, but I did decide to try Hand Cream in Honey Peach. I am very glad that I did.

Precious Garden is a drugstore line from Kosé Cosmeport under Kosé. It currently carries three products in various scents:

  • Body Milk (Romantic Rose, Relaxing Flower, Honey Peach & Juicy Citrus)
  • Hand Cream (Fairy Berry (new release), Romantic Rose, Relaxing Flower & Honey Peach)
  • Lip Cream (Fresh Berry, Honey Peach & Sweet Lemonade)

The line used to carry Body Mist but it is no longer available in Japan.

Kosé Kosé Cosmeport Precious Garden Hand Cream in Honey Peach (コーセー コーセーコスメポート プレシャスガーデン ハンドクリーム (ハニーピーチ), 70g, ¥290) was released in Japan on August 1st, 2014 (according to www.cosme.net). (I purchased it in 2015.) Some of the moisturizing ingredients in this product are glycerin, butylene glycol, stearic acid, cetearyl alcohol, shea butter, and jojoba seed oil. It contains arginine, which is an amino acid and has antioxidant properties. It also contains honey, which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

It doesn’t contain alcohol or mineral oil. It contains methylparaben and fragrance (parfum).

It has a slightly thick gel-like consistency, but it spreads relatively easily and is absorbed relatively quickly. When I first started using it, I often applied too much and I had to wait for quite a bit of time for it to sink in. I still need to remind myself that a little really goes a long way with this product.

The product leaves an almost-matte finish on the hands with no greasy feel or shine, and the hands are very soft, smooth and velvety (somewhat suede-like) to the touch. (It is not a powdery finish, which I don’t always like and is often from hand creams that contain corn starch or tapioca starch. The product doesn’t contain these two ingredients.) It soothes dry hands very effectively and provides very long-lasting emolliency.

According to the line’s official website, the product contains fragrance notes from peach, lemon, jasmine, lily of the valley and musk. Personally, I only smell peach and honey from the product. (The honey is from either the ingredient or the added fragrance (or both).) The two create a warm and soothing scent. In comparison, Aroma Resort’s Hand Cream in Happy Sweet Peach is fresher, cooler and fruitier. The scent is not particularly long-lasting, but it doesn’t vanish too quickly either.

Overall, this hand cream works very well for me. It works better than Hacci’s Hand Cream in Happening and Aroma Resort’s Hand Cream in Happy Sweet Peach, and, among the hand creams I have reviewed, this is the only one that works almost as well as Garnier’s Hand Repair Intensive Restoring Hand Cream (the current version and the previous (better) version) and Garnier’s Hand Cocoon. It is simply one of the best hand creams I have come across in recent years. (I have already re-purchased it and I also purchased Romantic Rose and Relaxing Flower.)

(Some ingredient information is from Paula Begoun’s Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary.)
