Kanebo Lunasol Aurorized Eyes 02 Light Variation Fall 2010 Makeup 1(It doesn’t seem that long ago that I got
Aurorize Eyes in Light Variation from fall 2010.)

.

The editor of Japanese magazine FRaU has tweeted about Lunasol‘s fall 2011 makeup collection here, here, and here. Also, see more images here.

According to these two sources, the theme of the collection is Light & Shade Purification. The new eyeshadow palette series, available in five variations, is called Three-Dimensional Eyes. Two of the four quarters in each variation feature three different hues/finishes, so each variation technically has eight shades.

The collection also includes a concealer palette and false eyelashes, among other items.

The collection will be released in Japan on August 19th.

I will update this post with more information later on.

The Kanebo Shimmer T'Estimo Coffret d'Or Lavshuca SUQQU RMK 1

.

As many of you know, Kanebo (currently part of the Kao Group) is one of the largest beauty companies in Japan. It features department store brands/lines (Coffret d’Or, Blanchir, Lunasol, Impress, Chicca, etc.) as well as drugstore lines (Lavshuca, Kate, Media, etc.). In addition, it ultimately owns brands like SUQQU, RMK, and Lissage.

Over the years, I have tried eyeshadows from many Japanese brands/lines, and it seems to me that there is something common among many of the eyeshadows from Kanebo-owned brands/lines: the shimmer.

I am certainly not saying that all of Kanebo’s eyeshadows have the same shimmery finish or that non-Kanebo eyeshadows (Japanese or not) look nothing like Kanebo ones, but there is a shared trait regarding the shimmery finish and that is the way the shimmer creates dimension.

Magie Deco’s spring 2011 Sugar Magic makeup collection features light lilacs and neutrals with a touch of green. The color combinations of Magie Deco’s eyeshadow palettes are usually slightly more unusual and unpredictable (see Magie Deco’s fall 2009 makeup collection), but the wearability of this collection and the soft looks that it can create are certainly appealing to me.

Lunasol will release its summer 2011 makeup collection in Japan on May 13th. In recent years, along with other items, Lunasol releases two eyeshadow palettes for summer in keeping with the spring makeup theme. (For spring 2011, the theme is Aquatic Purification.) Here is the first look at the two palettes, which I was really looking forward to.

The new items include:

Kanebo Lunasol Skin Modeling Eyes Kit Beige Beige Spring Summer 2011 Makeup 1(image/info from www.kanebo-cosmetics.jp/lunasol)

.

On March 23rd, Lunasol will release Skin Modeling Eyes Kit in collaboration with Biteki magazine and makeup artist Masaru Hamada. The limited-edition kit includes Skin Modeling Eyes in 01 Beige Beige (Lunasol’s all-time best-seller) and an original pouch.

Each purchase will also come with a deluxe sample (4g) of Lip Essence (for Day). (The full-size product is 7g.)

Released in spring 2007, Skin Modeling Eyes in 01 Beige Beige (usually referred to simply as Beige Beige by Lunasol fans) has reached a legendary status as an ultimate neutral eyeshadow palette. This is not the first time that Beige Beige is featured in a limited-edition kit. In 2008, it was included in Lunasol’s 10th Anniversary Makeup Palette. Last year, it was part of the brand’s Skin Modeling Eyes Starter Kit.

Dior Spring 2011 Makeup Trend 1(image from www.iswii.com)

.

After a few seasons of warm neutrals, grey emerges as one of the hottest shades for spring 2011. The looks that incorporate grey are chic and sophisticated, with a feel of low-key glamour. Meanwhile, surprisingly, purples are still at center stage, and, for this season, they are teaming up with warm neutrals for a natural but defined look.

Silvers & Greys

Dior leads the rest of the field with an ultra-chic Gris Montaigne makeup collection. All the new eye makeup items are grey-toned, and the color theme extends to lip and nail items. You will also find greys in collections from other trend setters such as Guerlain and NARS.
