Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-in-One B. B. Cream SPF 15 Light 1

.

Over the years, one of the questions that I have been asked the most by my readers is “Have you tried B. B. creams?”

Personally, B. B. creams don’t fit in with my daily skincare/makeup routine. Currently, when I don’t wear makeup, my daytime routine ends with Olay’s Complete Care Daily Sensitive UV Fluid SPF 15. When I do want coverage, I wear ZA’s Two-Way Foundation on top of the Olay moisturizer. Generally, I prefer pigmented products for face, eyes, and cheeks to be powder-based. (Powder foundations suit my sebaceous skin a lot more, and I find powder eyeshadows (especially those from Japanese lines) and blushers a lot easier to work with. Also, I very rarely wear primers.) Therefore, I haven’t been tempted to purchase a B. B. cream.

However, today, I am taking you through the basics of B. B. creams and I will be reviewing Garnier‘s Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-in-One B. B. Cream.

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day Cream SPF 15 5 Star UVA 1

.

I have to say that, partly due to the lack of (law enforced) product labeling, the awareness of full-spectrum sun protection (against both UVA and UVB rays) in the UK is still lacking (especially compared with the strong awareness in many countries in East Asia, such as Japan). However, there has been some slight improvement partly thanks to TV adverts from Boots such as this:

.

.

BootsNo 7 range has recently released Protect & Perfect Intense Day Cream (50ml), which SPF 15 and 5-star UVA protection. (Boots uses a star rating system to indicate the level of UVA protection in a product. Products with a 5-star label offer the strongest UVA protection.) The cream has a relatively light creamy consistency and feels emollient on the skin. The consistency is likely to appeal to those with normal-to-dry skin.

In terms of facial moisturizers, Olay is currently my preferred brand as I have been using Olay Complete Care Daily Sensitive UV Fluid SPF 15 and Olay Complate Care Night Enriched Cream in the last few years. Today I am reviewing a new product from Olay’s Regenerist range, Regenerist Night Renewal Elixir.

Launched in 1980 by the Japanese branch of Max Factor, SK-II needs little introduction. Apart from its well-known Pitera-rich skincare products, it also carries base makeup products as well as the recently launched color makeup items. Today I am reviewing three of the brand’s skincare products, Facial Treatment Essence, Facial Treatment Repair C, and Skin Signature.

DHC Coenzyme Q10 Lotion 1

.

Last month, I reviewed DHC‘s Olive Virgin Oil, which is a good product for those with drier skin types. Today I will be focusing on two of the products in the Coenzyme Q10 range,  Coenzyme Q10 Lotion and Coenzyme Q10 Milk.

Coenzyme Q10 Lotion is the toner of the Coenzyme Q10 range. It has a very fresh lightweight feel on the skin, and it doesn’t feel slippery or sticky. (It is not a rich toner that feels emollient on the skin.) It contains butylene glycol as a moisturizing ingredient and it contains willow bark extract as an anti-irritant.

Darphin Hydraskin Skin-Hydrating Serum 1

.

Founded in 1958 by Pierre Darphin, Darphin is a French skincare brand that has an emphasis on aromatic skincare. One of Darphin’s key skincare concepts is to use serums, aromatic oils, and moisturizing creams to deal with various skincare concerns (dryness, sensitivity, excessive sebum, ect.). According to the brand’s recommended routines, serums are used in the morning and aromatic oils are used in the evening. Both are followed by moisturizing creams.

Darphin currently features eight serums, and today I am highlighting Hydraskin Intensive Skin-Hydrating Serum.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Calming Facial Lotion 1

.

I have featured a few Palmer’s bodycare products (such as Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion SPF 15 and some of the Body Butters) since early last year, and I am pleased with all of them. Some of the things that have impressed me about them are the absence of irritating fragrant floral oils, their smooth and luxurious texture, and their ability to moisturize the skin effectively.

A few months ago, Palmer’s launched its first facial care range in the UK, and I was eager to see if the products still carry these attributes. Today I am focusing on two facial moisturizers, Daily Calming Facial Lotion and Night Renewal Cream.
