Kanebo Coffret d’Or Beauty Collection Total Designing Set 2013 EX-4 Fall 2013 Makeup 1

Kanebo Coffret d’Or released Beauty Collection Total Designing Set 2013 in fall 2013. Four sets were available, and I purchased EX-4, which includes 3D Gradation Eyes in 06 Beige Navy. I reviewed 02 Mint Brown earlier, and I thought I’d share my thoughts on 06 Beige Navy.

Kanebo Coffret d’Or 3D Gradation Eyes in 06 Beige Navy (カネボウ コフレドール 3Dグラデーションアイズ 06 ベージュネイビー, limited edition) includes three off-whites (with varying finishes and purposes (see my review of 02 Mint Brown for more information)), a warm beige brown and a navy blue. Exclusive to Beauty Collection Total Designing Set 2013 in EX-4 (ビューティコレクション トータルデザイニングセット 2013 EX-4, limited edition, ¥3800), this palette was not available separately.

Among the three off-white shades, I have only used the one on the top left (as a base) as it appears to be the least sparkly. The medium-depth beige brown has a medium-to-high pigmentation level, a subtle gold tone with a hint of redness, and a shimmery finish. (The shimmery finish looks nicely dimensional.) The well-pigmented medium-to-dark navy blue has a softly shimmery finish.

On Coffret d’Or’s official website, the beige brown looked fairly light, but it is actually darker and it works very well for me as a shadowing shade. I generally don’t like redness in neutral eyeshadow shades, but the hint of redness in this shade is minimal and I have no issue with it. The navy blue is not intensely dark but it is more than dark enough for me as an eyelining shade.

Overall, this palette works very well for me and I particularly love its combination of beige brown and navy blue. In a way, it makes up for the regret for not purchasing Coffret d’Or’s 3D Lighting Eyes in 03 Silver Variation. (See an image of it in my post on 3D Lighting Eyes in 04 Purple Variation.) Among the eyeshadow palettes I have tried that feature brown and dark blue, I like 06 Beige Navy almost as much as SUQQU’s Blend Color Eyeshadow in 01 杜若 Kakitsubata and I prefer it to SUQQU’s Blend Color Eyeshadow in EX-26 夕蒼 Yuuaoi. Between 02 Mint Brown and 06 Beige Navy (from the same series), I prefer 06 Beige Navy.

(Beauty Collection Total Designing Set 2013 in EX-4 also includes Color Blush in RS-17 and Bright Up Rouge (Creamy Liquid) in PK-263. The blusher has the same shade as that of the blusher in Beauty Collection Total Designing Set in EX-2 (released in fall 2012), and the lip color is a fresh light-to-medium pink (which you can see in the second link in the first paragraph).)

This looks just like Suqqu yosaizora(which I kind of regret buying because the whole thing looks so smokey/muddy on me)…Well, I guess Kanebo has been re-using the color scheme for a while now since the reason I picked yosaizora was so that I don’t have to buy the Lunasol Aurorized eyes in contrast variation (there is a nature color eyes that with the same r0se-beige-taupe/blurple combo as well)…

Hi Mina,

Kanebo certainly seems to release eyeshadow palettes with brown and dark blue more than Shiseido and Kosé.

SUQQU’s Eye Color Palette in EX-02 Yosaizora does look similar to Coffret d’Or’s 06 Beige Navy, but I think the two brown shades are considerably different. I had a chance to swatch Yosaizora and the beige brown had a pronounced taupe tone. I decided not to get the palette because I was fairly sure that the beige brown wouldn’t suit me. (I am with you on the muddiness. Taupe-toned neutral shades almost never work for me. They are too cool-toned for me and they tend to look ashy and grayish on me.) However, the beige brown in 06 Beige Navy has virtually no taupe tone and is overall considerably warmer.

(Based on the images I have come across, the brown shade in Lunasol’s Aurorize Eyes in 05 Contrast Variation appears to be even warmer and more reddish than the brown shade in 06 Beige Navy.)

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts again! :)
