The spring 2013 makeup collection from Elégance includes two new variations of Phantom Eyes and one new variation of Fabulous Rouge. All of them feature delicate floral patterns, and I like the soft spring-like colors of Phantom Eyes in 28.

For spring 2013, among many fairly colorful makeup collections from various brands, pink and green seem to be two of the trend colors. There is a range of pink hues, from soft peachy pinks to dramatic fuchsia pinks. On the other hand, green has been a key shade for some time (spring 2012 and fall 2012). The palettes from Mary Quant (above) and YSL (below) include both shades.

Dior‘s spring 2013 Chérie Bow makeup collection has an abundance of feminine pink shades. The seasonal limited-edition star item, the Chérie Bow palette, caught my attention, and I decided to go for 002 Rose Perle, which I preferred to the more gray-toned 001 Rose Poudre.

It seems that whitening ranges continue to be big businesses in Asia, and the springtime is when most of the whitening ranges from both Asian and western beauty brands (which develop whitening ranges exclusively for the Asian market) bring out new products. From daily skincare items to treatment products and from ultra-high SPF sunscreens to full base-makeup routines (from primer to loose powder), whitening ranges have been getting more and more extensive.

Here is a quick look at Dior‘s spring 2013 Chérie Bow makeup collection, which has been released in the UK. The collection features a wide range of fresh and feminine pink hues, from rose and fuchsia pinks to coral and peach pinks. The limited-edition star item of the collection is the Chérie Bow Palette, which is available in two variations (001 Pink Poudre (below) and 002 Pink Perle (above)). I prefer the look of 002 Pink Perle.

6th: Dior

Dior’s holiday 2012 Grand Bal makeup collection features chic gold-toned neutrals for the eyes and seductive reds for the lips and nails. The Grand Bal palette, in a sleek gold case, also includes a gold-toned eyeshadow, and I like the look of the Diorific items in the gold packaging as well. The collection has a glamorous and opulent feel.

I was disappointed with the lack of the limited-edition star item in Dior‘s holiday 2011 makeup collection, and I had been looking forward to seeing what Dior was going to bring out for this holiday season. Dior’s holiday 2012 Grand Bal makeup collection features warm-toned shades for the eyes and rich reds for the lips. (It is good to see new Diorific lipsticks and nail colors.) The star item is the Grand Bal palette, and I decided to get it with my Boots points.

Dior’s fall 2012 makeup collection features a variety of neutral and green tones. With most of Dior’s seasonal collections, the limited-edition star items were the ones that grabbed my attention first. However, with this collection, I prefer the 5 Couleurs palette in 774 Golden Savannah (above), the 5 Couleurs Designer palette in 308 Khaki Design (below), and the 3 Couleurs Glow palette in 651 Nude Glow (below) to the Golden Jungle palettes.

Purple and green have emerged as the dominant colors for fall 2012. Continuing from the spring 2012 makeup trend, green is still a key player. On the other hand, I am glad that purple is back on trend.
