Kanebo Lavshuca will release its holiday 2010 makeup collection in Japan on November 1st. The collection includes:
– Star Decoration Eyes (5 variations)
– Star Glow Rouge (12 shades)
– Perfect Gloss (lip primer, SPF 21, PA+)
I like the look of the Star Decoration Eyes, and the neutral palette featured in the image above looks good!

BR-1 is the one featured in the promotional image above, and it still looks good to me. It is great to see a purple-toned variation, but it looks more blue than purple in the image.

Color-wise, the fall 2010 makeup trends seem to be a natural progression from the last few seasons. Beiges and browns dominated spring 2010, and they are still a key trend in fall 2010, (Gone are the grays, which were prominent in fall 2009, as a major color trend.) Meanwhile, purples shone last fall and they have taken on a few varied hues this season.

Beiges & Browns
RMK puts browns firmly on center stage with the Autumn Brown collection. The limited-edition Brown Eyes palettes feature various brown tones. (The palettes are called Deep Brown, Dark Brown, Red Brown, Yellow Brown and Beige Brown.) Guerlain‘s new Écrin 6 Couleurs palettes are also based on a variety of neutral tones, while SUQQU‘s revamped makeup line lays the groundwork with six Blend Color Eyeshadow palettes, all with neutral hues.

Pinks, Mauves, Purples & Plums
Biteki (September 2010) calls them the berry tones, and those who are not enticed by the skin-tonal colors and who are interested in more vibrant shades might want to look into these mouth-watering colors.
Dior‘s 5 Color Design palette in Pink Design includes a dusty pink and a sophisticated muted purple. Estée Lauder‘s Pure Color 5 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Surreal Violet offers some delicious berry shades. Addiction‘s fall 2010 makeup collection includes berry-toned items for eyes as well as lips. (Refer to the link for the new items for lips.)

Mix & Match
What is interesting is that many brands feature both color trends in their fall 2010 makeup collections (either in one single item or in various items in the collection). Here are some of the highlights:

In June, Estée Lauder launched Pure Color Gloss in the UK. It features 26 colors in three different finishes (Shine, Shimmer and Sparkle). Today I am highlighting 6 of the colors.

Simply Pink (Shine) is a warm milky nude pink. It is quite pigmented and has no shimmer (which is the case with the shades in the Shine family). The shade goes on slightly lighter than it looks in the tube. It gives a very glossy look for the lips, which appeals to me. But, personally, I think this shade is slightly too pale for my light-to-medium complexion. Also, because the shade goes on lighter than my natural lip color (and because the shade itself is quite pigment-rich), there is color/pigment visibly settling in lip lines. I think it would suit those with a fair complexion a lot better.

After a long time of indecision, I finally decided to get Lavshuca’s Eye Color Select in BR-1 a couple of months ago. (I try to make sure that I deliberate enough about each makeup purchase, even with items that are not particularly pricey.)
Kanebo Lavshuca released Eye Color Select back in spring 2007, and I have PK-1 and BU-1. I also have PU-2, which was released in fall 2007. At the time, I didn’t have much interest in neutral-toned palettes. But being in my neutral phase for the last few seasons, I couldn’t resist going back to one of my favorite eyeshadow ranges for one more helping.
