In 2006, Kanebo launched the Impress range, and, a year later, the Impress IC sub-range was launched. According to Kanebo, Impress is marketed as a “high-price” range while Impress IC is what the brand calls a “volume-price” (mid-price) range.
On November 19, a new sub-range, Impress Granmula, will be introduced in Japan. Marketed as a “highest-price” range, the launch collection includes three items:
– Lotion (21,000 JPY, approx. 154 GBP, 239 USD)
– Emulsion (31,500 JPY, approx. 230 GBP, 359 USD)
– Cream (126,000 JPY, approx. 922 GBP, 1436 USD)
The Cream is certainly exceptionally pricey, but it still can’t stand comparison with Pola’s B.A The Cream Edo Kiriko, released as a limited edition last October.

In 2008, SHISEIDO started implementing a 3-year plan to increase its global presence. (See my post in 2008 regarding this here.) A major part of the plan is to increase the brand’s retail points across the world. Since then, SHISEIDO has commenced business in the following countries:
March 2008: Romania, Bulgaria
May 2009: Egypt
August 2009: Laos, Morocco
December 2009: Azerbaijan
May 2010: Mongolia
From this month, SHISEIDO will launch retail points in three Balkan nations: Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia. The brand will be the first Japanese cosmetics brand available in these three countries.
With these European launches, the brand will be available in 77 countries, including 44 European countries.

Updated on October 15th, 2010:
According to one of Shiseido’s latest press releases (via www.nikkei.com), the brand was available in Mongolia from September.

If you are reading this, then you are on my new site!
First of all, I apologize for not posting any new article for the last 10 days. The migration has been a very stressful experience. However, it is a tremendous learning experience as well. As some of you might know, WordPress is quite different from Blogger. For me, it is a little bit like learning to blog all over again.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew, Betsy, Carla, Carleen, Lynn and The Muse for their advice, patience and moral support. I wouldn’t be writing this post on my new site without their help.
Now that the basic layout is set up, I will start posting new articles very soon. I will also finish up the sections in the menu bar at the top of the blog and gradually improve the look of the blog.
Among my future articles will be reviews on Coffret D’Or, Paul & Joe, Lavshuca, Burberry Beauty, L’Occitane, and Kanebo Sensai.
Do bookmark the new site, and I’ll see you again soon!
My blog migration has been in progress.
However, I have been having a couple of technical issues. The new blog has not been able to import all the comments from this blog. Based on the information that I have come across, this seems to be a common problem with those who are moving their blogs from Blogger to self-hosted WordPress blogs.
I have been trying different ways around it. If nothing works, I will still go ahead with the URL re-direction and then I will import the comments manually.

(One last look…)
After more than three and a half years on Blogger, I will be moving my blog to WordPress and a new webhost in the next couple of days. This is mainly for the purpose of having more control of my blog domain and design. Also, I want to minimize the risk of what happened last August happening again.
After the move, you will be automatically re-directed to my new blog/URL when you log on to this URL (atouchofblusher.blogspot.com). If you have my blog bookmarked in your web browser or if you have a link to my blog on your blogroll, I would appreciate it if you would kindly update the URL.
If you are a follower of my blog (from Blogger), I am assuming that you will be re-directed to my new URL as well.
If you are a subscriber of my blog posts, you shouldn’t have to do anything and all my new posts should continue to be delivered to you.
I will disable comments temporarily while I prepare for the migration. You will be able to leave comments again on my new blog.
In situations where I am not able to inform you of problems with the migration on my old/new blogs, I will post updates and announcements on my Twitter page.
Hopefully the move will go smoothly!
